Carbon-filled PTFE is a high performance, synthetic fluoropolymer with the carbon fibre greatly improving by a notable margin characteristics including electrical properties, deformation strength and wear and abrasion resistance. Carbon is a brittle material itself, having poor wear properties and mechanical strength. The resulting material after the mixture of PTFE and carbon fibers, however, has excellent mechanical and wear properties.
